Seward Cafe

The Seward Cafe is my favorite place in all of Minneapolis for Breakfast. From what I understand (and I could be wrong) they offer vegan and vegetarian options exclusively. As well, most vegetables and ingredients are organic and acquired locally. This is the Super Green Earth Tofu Scramble. Yukon Gold potatoes, scrambled with tofu and topped with broccoli and melted mozzarella. All bread, including that used in the French Toast, is baked on site every day. Whether it's atmosphere, people-watching or the food, I can't say enough good things about this place.

Continental Breakfast

Continental breakfasts vary from place to place. Although there were no waffles, I really had no complaints about this one. Microtel~New Ulm, MN.

Jer & Renee's Wedding

Two really great people got married this past weekend. The food they had for the reception was really great too. Chicken breast, pork, mashed potatoes & gravy, caramelized carrots, salad and a dinner roll. By the time we ate, I had drank like three beers, so my plate disappeared in minutes. I didn't have any of the cake but I am told it was good as well.
Later on in the evening they cracked out these really great (Yes, I said "really great" again) homemade monster cookies. The were really great.

The Lamplighter~New Ulm, MN

Not to be confused with the Lamplighter in St. Paul, MN. You know, the one where the girls dance behind glass. This one is a restaurant on one side and a sports bar on the other. They had a framed picture of the Timberwolves inaugural season. Man, I forgot about some of those guys. Pooh Richardson, Tony Campbell, Brad Lohaus, Steve Roth, Todd Murphy, Sidney Lowe and of course, Sam Mitchell. I think they only won 20 games that season. Anyway, I got the special: bacon cheeseburger with potato salad. Fairly small patty for a bar burger and only ONE slice of bacon. Blasphemy. Tatter salad was really good though.
I didn't actually have the grilled cheese, but I am told it was "standard."

Punch Pizza

Caesar Salad and the Cortina~mushroom, garlic, gorgonzola, sun-dried tomato and oregano. Very tasty. A nice meal for two.
